Kinston 3 at Raleigh 6

Erik Waters drove the Eagles to within field goal range with 1:54 left in the game, but Duane Buckley missed the 44yd attempt coming up short. This gave Seth Hatfield the ball on the Raleigh 34 yard line, and he countered setting up Mario Gresham for his 46yd game winner.

Charlotte 14 at Asheville 9

With 26 seconds left at the Charlotte 26 yard line on 4th and 1 Marion Sorenson threw to a wide open Foster Whistler in the end zone, but he was unable to catch the ball. That was how this game came to an end. On the drive before Eugene Turpen had missed a pass in the end zone for Asheville. It was just not meant to be for Asheville today.
