Burlington 44 at Wilson 24

Despite giving up 24 points in the 4th quarter, this was a dominating win for the Bees who were up 44-0 after three quarters of play.  The only thing negative to come out of this for the Bees is that they suffered an injury in their offensive line.  We're not sure how serious, but the difference in their offense after the injury was stunning.  Still the Bees managed 370 net yards to the Tobs 69.  Mark Macarthur had an incredible game and seems to be playing at a different speed than everyone around him.  Ricardo Phillips struggled a bit, so it will be curious to see if he remains the starter in week 3.

Salisbury 20 at Gastonia 3

A brilliant game from the Salisbury defense  who completely dominated this game.  Every time James Martin dropped back he was under pressure, and was forced into three turnovers.  Add one from James Carter and the Popes defense did pretty well.

Kinston 7 at Rocky Mount 16

Despite solid games from Rober Ramos and Bernie Hall, Kinston could only manage seven points.  This is something their offense has struggled with for years.  Their defense played an excellent game, but it wasn't enough as Rocky Mount  took advantage of the opportunities they were given and snuck through with the win.

Rocky Mount
Mike Ramsey 14/31 155yds
Juan Elswick 14car/52yds 1TD
John Alexander 10tt/4rec/34yds

Asheville 0 at Charlotte 10

Charlotte was simply too much for Asheville.  Maurice Bloom ran well, the defense put constant pressure on Charles Kissane, and the special teams made the difference in the end.  Twice in the 4th quarter they pinned the Tourists inside their own five, and then Clinton Parker had a key punt return that setup the first score of the game.

Charlotte
Royce Scott 12/32 100yds
Maurice Bloom 26car/98yds 1TD
Norman Rogge 10tt/2rec/14yds
