Their regular season game had been a nail biter, but this was not.  It was tight during the first half, but as the Wilson defense wore down and the offense continued to struggle Burlington walked away with an easy win.  Fantastic performances from Thaddeus Schlotter, Todd Dirks, and Leon Glenn lead the Bees offense while a solid run defense shut down Wilson's offense.  Like the Popes had against Gastonia, the Bees seemed to be in a different league.

In a shocker Salisbury completely dominated Gastonia from start to finish.   The Popes defense shut down Gastonia's potent offense, while their own offense ran rough shod over the Pirates tough defense.  The Popes amassed 419 net yards and held the Pirates to only 20 in this lopsided game.  There had been a lot of excitement over this game since the two teams had split wins during the regular season, but Salisbury seemed to be in a different league this time around.

Robert Walker is no longer the Twins interim head coach, he is now the new head coach of the Winston-Salem organization.  The Twins found some success after bringing Walker in as an interim coach and certainly played better football. 

He has now been the head coach for three of the four Piedmont Division teams.  He managed to take Durham and Greensboro to 7-5 records matching their team best but has never made the playoffs.  He has also struggled with a tendency to have a collapse after a successful season. 

Larry Hefner was in his 8th season as head coach when the Twins replaced him with Walker.  Hefner had good success early with Winston-Salem but the past few years had seen a steady decline. 

Walker brought Greensboro back to a winning record only two years after taking over their head coaching job, and brought Durham from 3-9 in 2001 to 7-5 in 2002.  In 2003 the Bulls would drop all 12 games and Walker was out as a head  coach. Winston-Salem has not had a winning record in 5 seasons and so they are hopeful that Walker can bring success quickly to a struggling program.
