"It's great to win," Joe Maryland (Kinston 10 at Wilson 13)

It's great to win games and especially great to end the season at 6-6 after such a collapse mid season.  Joe Maryland has won the hearts of Wilson fans, although many would question his play calling in this game running Charles Davey more than Ken Haslip, but they won and that's all that matters.  James Dave was 2/2 on FGs and 1/1 on PAT attempts, that makes all Tobs fans happy.

Marion Sorenson had an awful game

but Millnichick wasn't bad

although the one big run really made his numbers.

With Gastonia and Kinston both losing their final games everyone is doubting any chances they may have against Salisbury or Burlington.  Not sure which team is tougher.  Gastonia has beaten the Popes and they have a solid defense, a good runner, and a dangerous passing game.  But they are a bit flakey and seem to come and go during a game.  It's rare this year when they've been able to put an entire solid game together.  Kinston has no offense and that is really going to hurt them.  Their defense is incredibly dangerous, but their offense will have to not turn the ball over and take advantage of the situations their defense can give them.  Everyone is expecting to see the Popes and the Bees in the finals for the 8th time, and the 4th year in a row.

Charlotte 3 at Winston-Salem 5

Yes the Twins won it on a Shawn Carter safety with under 2:00 left in the game.

The key to this game was running.  The Twins completely shut down Tony Session holding him to 9yds on 20 carries.  Meanwhile Brown and Ingram combined for 89yds rushing.  The game was so much about field position and the Twins were always able to move the ball, while Charlotte's offense was very up and down.  Brandon Brown by the way proved himself to be a real star.  Not only did he have some key runs, but he was their leading receiver as well.  Royce Scott had a good game, but it was too much pressure for him, he needs a running attack to help him out.  The Twins also did a good job limiting the damage from the Clippers blitz, in a big part because of their ability to run the ball.

Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail beta.
