Petis Norman Resigns
The Greensboro Patriots today announced the resignation of head coach Petis Norman after 1 season and a 2-10 record. Norman coached the 2002 season with Asheville going 1-11. This will be the 4th coach for Greensboro in 7 seasons.
In other coaching news Rocky Mount has decided to stick it out with head coach Chad Rutledge despite his team's late season collapse the past two years. "We feel that Rutledge can make this team a divisional champ," management said in a press conference late Monday.
John Walton announced over the weekend his resignation from the Charlotte organization. He took the Clippers to four straight playoffs from 2000-2003. After losing many of his starters from those glory years, Charlotte struggled to a 1-11 record last season the worst record in the league. "I don't have the desire it takes to rebuild a team and feel that I should hand the reigns over to someone who does have that desire," Walton said in a statement released to the press on Saturday.

SALISBURY, N.C. -- The Popes, six-time champion of the North Carolina Football Association's Mountain Division, today announced the resignation of Leo Scott and Eric Nance Woehler as defensive coordinator and head coach, respectively. Scott will head the Popes' new advisory board, while Nance Woehler, team owner, will continue to manage Salisbury's general operations.
"I am, of course, saddened to be relinquishing coaching reins, as I'm sure Leo is, too," Nance Woehler said. "But we also share enthusiasm for this team's future. We both will remain intimately involved with the day-to-day operations of this team, in whatever manner is agreeable to our offensive coordinator, Ray Alexander, and the Popes' new coaches."
